Weekend TV Preview: 14-16 March

All times UK

Friday

19.30 FC Schalke v MSV Duisburg, Bundesliga, Setanta Sports 1
Surely Schalke can't cock this one up. Could be a comedy of errors.

Saturday

12.30 Motherwell v Celtic, Scottish Premier League, Setanta Sports 1
Third plays second - there just happens to be 18 points between them.

17.15 Arsenal v Middlesbrough, Premier League, Setanta Sports 1
Neither side has much to proud of from last weekend. Boro are still the only team to have beaten Arsenal in the League this season.

19.00 Deportivo La Coruna v Real Madrid, La Liga, Sky Sports 2
Deportivo are putting some form together after languishing near the bottom for most of the season. Madrid, although clear at the top, have lost 5 of their last 8, so it could be an upset.

21.00 Leixoes v FC Porto, Portuguese Liga, Setanta Sports 2
Porto are cruising the League, facing the team third from bottom shouldn't provide much of a challenge.

Sunday

13.30 Roda JC v PSV, Eredivisie, Setanta Sports 2
Roda are already in their flip-flops, having nothing really to play for. PSV will want to increase their lead at the top of the table.

13.30 Fulham v Everton, Premier League, Sky Sports 1
Fulham can't rely on last minute Jimmy Bullard goals to keep them up, they'll be relying on Everton being knackered after their extra-time UEFA Cup exit midweek

14.00 Inter Milan v Palermo, Serie A, Five
Inter are unbeaten at home (domestically at least), Palermo though top half have a very ordinary away record. Everything says stroll for Inter. The relegation tussle between Livorno and Parma might have been a better choice.

15.00 Dundee Utd v Rangers, Scottish League Cup Final, BBC1 Scotland (Sky channel 971)
Dundee United have beaten Rangers already this season in the League, though their form has been patchy of late. Should be a good contest.

16.00 Manchester City v Tottenham Hotspur, Premier League, Sky Sports 1
If Tottenham want to be taken seriously they have to go to these places and win. My game of the weekend.

18.00 Burton Albion v Weymouth, Blue Square Premier, Setanta Sports 1
Plenty to play for as Burton look to consolidate a play off place while Weymouth look to jump out of the relegation places they've slid into. A draw suits neither side.

18.00 Almeria v Barcelona, La Liga, Sky Sports 2
Almeria are comfortably mid-table, unlikely to make a dash for the UEFA spots, too high to get caught in the relegation battle, though having beaten Real Madrid here last month they might fancy their chances given the all the Thierry Henry nonsense that's been surrounding Barca this week.

19.55 Lens v Marseille, Le Championnat, Setanta Sports 2
Lens in 16th place can't buy a win at the moment and need one badly, not the best time to have Marseille visiting whose rise from 19th in November to 4th now has been nothing short of remarkable.

20.00 Atletico Madrid v Levante, La Liga, Sky Sports 2
Levante have managed 4 points from 39 on the road this campaign, perfect opportunity for Atletico to put recent defeats behind them.
