Midweek TV Preview: 18 - 21 April

Monday 18 April

17.30 Ponte Preta v Palmeiras, Brazilian Campeonato Paulista, Premier Sports
Palmeiras are top of the table and a win will keep them there ahead of the State Championship play offs. Ponte Preta are comfortable seventh place.
19.45 QPR v Derby County, Championship, Sky Sports 1 / HD1
A win for Rangers would see them go 14 pints clear of third placed Norwich in the Championship with only four rounds of fixtures left. If Norwich don't beat Ipswich on Thursday, the hoops will be promoted.

Tuesday 19 April

19.45 Newcastle United v Man Utd, Premier League, Sky Sports 1 / HD1 / 3D
A fixture that has lost some shine since the early days of the Premier League but an opportunity for United to get back on the horse after their Cup defeat at the weekend. Or to look at it another way, a chance for Newcastle to kick the Reds when their down.
23.15 Internacional v Emelec, Copa Libertadores, Premier Sports
Down to the final round of fixtures in the Group Stage. A win for Emelec would see them overhaul their Brazilian hosts and see the Ecuadorians in the knock out round.

Wednesday 20 April

19.30 Kilmarnock v Celtic, SPL, ESPN/ESPN HD
The Scottish Clausura is upon us and Celtic are a point behind Rangers, no doubt due to some vast conspiracy or another. Assuming the Rangers supporting Space Aliens, working for the SFA and the Scottish Media don’t zap them with their interferon rays, the bhoys should be fine.
19.45 Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal, Premier League, Sky Sports 1 / HD1 / 3D
Spurs rise to the upper echelons of the Premier League has added additional importance to this fixture, beyond the local issues. Arsenal cannot have ruled themselves out of the title race while Tottenham will be desperate to relive their Champions League adventure next season.
20.30, Real Madrid v Barcelona, Copa Del Rey Final, Sky Sports 2 / HD2
El Clasico Encabezado Quadrupal continues with the Spanish cup final. Last Saturday's game was pretty cagey until Real went a goal down and decided that they weren't going to let matters stand. Drama guaranteed but this is the appetiser for the main event next week.

Thursday 21 April

19.30 SC Freiburg v Hannover 96, Bundesliga, ESPN / ESPN HD
The Bundesliga Weekend kicks off a day earlier to avoid Good Friday. This match should prove an ideal introduction to those of you keen to explore the German top flight's lesser known clubs. Both teams have risen above their usual mediocrity and have had impressive seasons. Particularly Hannover who have a great chance of a Champions League spot.
