Midweek TV Preview: 2 - 4 May

Tuesday 3 May

19.45 Barcelona v Real Madrid, Champions League Semi Final 2nd Leg, Sky Sports 2 / HD2 / 3D
Graham correctly predicted Mourinho’s ‘dark forces’ outburst prior to the first leg (but then Graham is ‘Paul The Octopus’). Needless to say his comments should be interesting if Real actually manage to overhaul their 2-goal deficit by the end of this second leg.

Wednesday 4 May

18.00 Celtic v Inverness CT, SPL, ESPN / ESPN HD
Dead rubber, other than to say this game in hand could help Celtic return to the top of the SPL, which they will.
19.45 Man Utd v Schalke, Champions League Semi Final 2nd Leg, ITV1 / ITV1 HD
United are 2-0 up from the first leg. The only consequence of this match will be a quickening of Manuel Neuer putting pen to paper for Sir Alex.

Thursday 5 May

19.45 Wrexham v Luton, Blue Square Premier League Play Off 1st Leg, Premier Sports
Whenever I have trouble thinking of an anecdote for a particular team, I always do the right thing and refer to a player I once saw in an old Panini sticker album. Today, that player is Wrexham’s Joey Jones.
20:05 Braga v Benfica, UEFA Europa League Semi Final 1st Leg, 5 / 5 HD
All hail the Portuguese for providing three of the four Europa League semi-finalists this season. Braga trail from their slender 2-1 defeat going into this second leg, but with only one goal conceded in eight European games this season, there’s every chance a vital away goal will be enough to help them reach the Final.
20:05 Villarreal v FC Porto, UEFA Europa League Semi Final 1st Leg, ITV4 / ITV4 HD
Porto’s Falcao has now scored 15 goals in this campaign, putting him level with Jurgen Klinsmann in the all-time record stakes. Having bagged 4 of his team’s 5 goals against Villareal in the first leg, there’s every chance he’ll be given the night off - possibly against his will, one might suggest.
