World Cup Draw 2010: We did it our way...
With only a couple of hours to go before FIFA makes its draw for the 2010 World Cup Finals, we'd like to show you how the groups looked when *we* did our own version of the draw at the start of this week.
If you've already heard our podcast, you'll know that Graham had worked out the seedings according to theory and logic (something FIFA did away with before announcing the official seedings this week) which just left us to pull the teams from the hat, so to speak.
And here for those of you that either want confirmation or simply can't beat to hear our podcast is the way our draw panned out:
GROUP A: South Africa, North Korea, Paraguay, Switzerland
GROUP B: England, USA, Cameroon, Serbia
GROUP C: Spain, Mexico, Denmark, Uruguay
GROUP D: Brazil, Ghana, New Zealand, Slovakia
GROUP E: Germany, Greece, Ivory Coast, South Korea
GROUP F: Italy, Netherlands, Chile, Japan
GROUP G: France, Honduras, Nigeria, Portugal
GROUP H: Argentina, Australia, Slovenia, Algeria
We're not seriously expecting any of these groups to actually be drawn by Sepp Blatter and his merry band of celebrities, but imagine if they did, eh? Wouldn't that make *us* a bit special? Well it could happen...
