Mid-week TV preview April 14-17

Monday 14 April
19.45 Sheffield Wednesday v Plymouth Argyle, Championship, Sky Sports 1 & HD1

Paul Sturrock's return to Hillsbrough sees Wednesday needing a win badly: six consecutive draws sees them in the relegation zone after the weekend's results. Plymouth's play-off ambitions are hopeful at best. A seventh draw must be very likely.

20.00 Chelsea v Wigan Athletic, Premier League, Setanta Sports 1
An ugly, uninteresting grind to three points for Chelsea.

20.05 Dungannon Swifts v Drogheda, Setanta Sports Cup, Setanta Sports 2
Third match of six in the group stage. Cross-border tie sees Swifts looking for their first win (and goals) in this season's competition.

Tuesday 15 April
19.45 Exeter City v Aldershot, Blue Square Premier, Setanta Sports 1

Aldershot just need a point be crowned Champions. Exeter are still looking to secure a play-off place but were helped by Aldershot beating rivals Burton at the weekend. Could all come down to when the two teams face each other on the last day.

19.45 Barnsley v Hull City, Championship, Sky Sports 1 & HD1
Barnsley seem to have got their heads together after being knocked out of the Cup, should be a cracking game against the Championship's form team.

20.05 St Patricks Athletic v Linfield, Setanta Sports Cup, Setanta Sports 2
The two games in this group have produced a total of 10 goals, hopefully this should continue with another cross-border tie.

Wednesday 16 April
19.45 Manchester City v Chelsea, FA Youth Cup Final 2nd Leg (1-1), Sky Sports 1 & HD1

A chance to see Manchester City's future Micah Richards or Michael Johnson and Chelsea's next generation of Championship loans.

19.45 Celtic v Rangers, Scottish Premier League, Setanta Sports 1
A Rangers victory would pretty much seal the title, Celtic have this and another old firm derby before the end of the season to help close the gap.

Thursday 17 April
00.50 Santos v Cucata, Copa Libertadores, Setanta Sports 2

Cucata have already qualified as winners of this group while Santos need to win to be sure of their place in the next stage.

20.00 Everton v Chelsea, Premier League Sky Sports 1 & HD1
A game far too important for both clubs to be entertaining. No fun at all here.
