Mid-week TV Preview March 17-20

(All times UK)

Monday
20.00 Birmingham City v Newcastle Utd, Premier League, Setanta Sports 1

One win should give Keegan's men the confidence they need to pull away from the relegation battle. One more defeat, especially at Birmingham will leave them wondering if the next victory will come at Burnley next season.

Tuesday
19.30 Borussia Dortmund v Carl Zeiss Jena, DFB German Cup Semi-Final, Setanta Sports 2

BVB expected to be challenging for Europe in the Bundesliga. There only hope now is in the Cup. Carl Zeiss Jena may have a fancy Cold-War-chic name but are second bottom of the 2. Bundesliga. Dortmund to should be in Berlin at the end of April.

Aberdeen distinguished themselves in the UEFA cup this season. Can they upset Celtic? No.

19.45 Aldershot v Woking, Setanta Shield Semi-final , Setanta Sports 1

Wednesday

19.45 PSV v Ajax, Eredivisie, Setanta Sports 1
Rearranged fixture from last Sunday week because the Dutch Police went on strike. Ajax could close the gap to a point behind PSV at the top. A rare opportunity to check out some hot Dutch action considering the alternative is...

19.45 Manchester Utd v Bolton Wanderers, Premier League, Sky Sports 1 & Sky Sports HD1
In which United use their game in hand to heap more misery on their title rivals and opponents.

Thursday
00.50 Flamengo v Nacional, Copa Libertadores, Setanta Sports 2

If you've got Setanta but have not availed yourself of South America's finest in action then do yourself a favour and get involved. I don't have the slightest clue who anyone is mind you and can barely understand the commentator but hey... life is a journey.

19.00 England v Czech Republic, Women's Euro Qualifier, BBC3
The Czechs have a game in hand over Group leaders England but will find it tough against the only team left with a 100% record. Lets hope for a lively atmosphere at the Keepmoat. Game of the week, and I'm not just saying that to sound right-on... OK yes I am.

19.45 Grays Athletic v Droylsden, Blue Square Premier, Setanta Sports 1
Grays have only lost one in five while Droylesden haven't won since January. The home side should be a banker.
